Tommy’s Tucker is a family game butcher within the city of Plymouth. A registered food business with the local council, holding a 5-star hygiene rating. Tommy’s Tucker is licenced to shoot, process and sell all products of venison which ensures it is the most ethical meat in the UK. All venison harvested is wild and local, always offering the freshest meat; travelling on average no more than 13 miles.

Venison is healthy with many nutritional benefits and has a low carbon footprint. Once the carcass has been harvested, it makes a one-way journey to its place of processing and distribution. Tommy’s Tucker can guarantee fresh meat hung for no longer than 7 days, giving the most tender, fresh and locally sourced meat you can buy.

Tommy’s Tucker aims to use every part of the animal to minimise wastage. As a business, there’s even outsourcing for leftover bones and skin. Not a single part of the deer will ever see a domestic waste route. All products are not only healthy and delicious, but they also offer an extraordinary low environmental impact.

Tommy’s history involving deer started back in 2013 when he used to help out at a local Fallow park. Here his passion grew, getting more involved with different organisations taking on training and mentoring roles. This has led to him becoming a national Trainer and Approved Witness for Deer Management Qualifications (DMQ) for Deer Stalking Certificate Level 1&2 (DSC1&2). By chance one of the areas he managed asked him to start a food business; this has grown and led to Tommy’s Tucker venison company.

Tommy has many years of experience with butchering venison and has all the equipment on-site including his own cold room to process this fantastic product. The local council has visited and inspected the property, awarding a 5-star hygiene rating. Tommy’s aims are to provide clean, locally sourced, naturally low-fat meat for local residents and families alike. All products are processed by the person who harvested them; with minimal food miles and an immense amount of passion in what he does.

All these attributes mean that you as the customer get nothing but the finest cuts of quality venison.
